About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Reporting Vice President to join our team at the Bank of China. As a key member of our Financial Management department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our IT systems and data processes comply with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that our IT systems and data processes comply with regulatory requirements, including but not limited to CRR, CRD, PRA rulebook, Basel III and other relevant frameworks.
  • Collaboration and Interpretation: Collaborate with the Reporting team, Risk departments and other internal stakeholders to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into IT and data management solutions.
  • Implementation and Updates: Manage the implementation of regulatory changes within IT systems and ensure timely updates.
  • Business Requirements: Collaborate closely with the Reporting team to gather business requirements related to regulatory data needs.
  • Data Strategies: Work with Reporting stakeholders to understand their needs and design the most effective data strategies from a user's perspective.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Utilise the Axiom regulatory reporting system to develop, maintain, and validate regulatory reports.
  • Analysis and Insights: Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support regulatory compliance and business decision-making.
  • Project Leadership: Lead regulatory IT projects, particularly focusing on the London Branch and UK Sub Data project, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Communication and Coordination: Coordinate with cross-functional teams both locally and within BOC Group's functions in China to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Leadership and Troubleshooting: Provide leadership in troubleshooting, managing system upgrades, and implementing any new requirements for regulatory data processes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Facilitate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that project goals and regulatory requirements are clearly understood and met.
  • Progress Updates: Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, risks, and issues.
  • System Design and Implementation: Work with IT teams within China and the UK to design, implement, and test new system functionalities that align with regulatory requirements.
  • User Training: Provide training to staff and users on system functionality and data management.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree educated in Finance, Business or other equivalent.
  • Experience: Solid experience with the regulatory reporting system Axiom as well as managing regulatory IT projects, analysing data, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, such as CRR, CRD, PRA rules, Basel III, and other industry standards.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of regulatory frameworks and their application in IT and data environments.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent skills in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Regulatory Reporting Software: Familiarity with regulatory reporting software and IT governance frameworks.
  • Data Management: Solid understanding of data management practices, including data quality, data governance, and data integration.
  • Leadership and Project Management: Ability to lead projects and manage cross-functional teams to achieve regulatory compliance and business objectives.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Organisational and Project Management Skills: Excellent organisational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Team player who is able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and excellent English and Mandarin communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business language.
