We are currently seeking a Principal Engineer (internal title: Principal Architect) to enhance our team in the UK.

As a Principal Engineer at Nordcloud, you will be instrumental in driving the success of key customer initiatives by delivering value through hands-on expertise in application and infrastructure architecture. You will serve as a technical authority, leading teams and stakeholders through intricate cloud ecosystems, ensuring the provision of top-tier solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serving as a technical authority with practical skills capable of challenging traditional approaches to IT and cloud platforms.
  • Designing architecture for both new and existing client projects, ensuring the development of scalable and resilient cloud solutions.
  • Performing technical evaluations and offering constructive feedback to guarantee high-quality outputs.
  • Streamlining infrastructure management and deployment processes through various scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to facilitate the seamless integration of solutions.
  • Leading regular knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops with clients and internal teams.
  • Architecting and implementing scalable, dependable, and secure cloud infrastructures utilizing AWS/Azure.
  • Engaging in strategic planning discussions with clients to align their cloud initiatives with overarching business objectives.

Essential Skills:

  • Profound understanding of public cloud services, particularly AWS and Azure.
  • Practical experience in application and infrastructure architecture within cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Strong scripting capabilities in languages like Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and tools, including Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD.
  • Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • In-depth awareness of industry trends and the ability to adapt them to meet client requirements.
  • Highly proactive and motivated, with the ability to lead discussions and influence decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in English communication.
