Senior Nuclear Safety Case Engineer

Assystem is seeking an experienced Senior Nuclear Safety Case Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Nuclear Safety Case Engineer, you will be responsible for leading projects for a range of clients across the UK nuclear industry, including new build projects, supporting operating facilities, and decommissioning and waste management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of safety cases for nuclear facilities, ensuring compliance with UK regulatory requirements and international standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with nuclear projects.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, including new build project developers, operating facility owners, and decommissioning and waste management companies.
- Contribute to business development activities, including bid preparation and proposal writing.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
- At least 7 years of experience in the production of safety assessments for nuclear facilities.
- Proven track record of leading safety case development projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK regulatory requirements and international standards, particularly relating to Nuclear Safety Assessment.
