Job Title: Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Newcastle or Glasgow - Hybrid available, 2 days in office per week

Hours of Work: Up to 40 hours per week

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer to join our team at Rullion Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical leadership and expertise in nuclear safety, radiation protection, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical leadership and guidance on nuclear safety and radiation protection matters
  2. Undertake hazard and fault identification studies, qualitative and quantitative hazard analysis assessments, and radiological hazard assessments
  3. Develop and review safety case reports, ALARP assessments, and safety management arrangements
  4. Liaise with regulatory organisations and provide support to engineering substantiation activities
  5. Manage and lead safety case activities and teams

Requirements:

  1. Proven track record in safety within nuclear, defense, or another highly regulated industry
  2. Honours degree or equivalent in physics, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline
  3. Chartered status or working towards it
  4. Able to produce and review high-quality technical reports
  5. Able to lead technical teams and mentor junior staff
  6. Able to identify their own technical limitations
  7. Able to gain the necessary clearance
