Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated market reporter to enhance our editorial team, focusing on specific commodity markets while reporting on transactions, price fluctuations, and market developments.
This role presents an exceptional opportunity to advance your career in the economically and politically significant domain of global energy and commodities. You will have the chance to apply and refine your skills in daily news reporting, market analysis, feature writing, and editorial contributions within a dynamic environment that upholds the highest standards of journalistic independence and integrity. Opportunities for travel and participation in industry conferences, as well as leading webinar sessions, are available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and evaluate markets to generate daily price assessments, market commentaries, news articles, and reports.
- Engage daily with biofuels producers, traders, brokers, and other key market participants, including governmental bodies, to establish relationships and gather news.
- Contribute written content to relevant daily and periodic publications, as well as the online news service.
- Attend meetings, conferences, and industry events to cultivate contacts, report on news, and represent Argus Media externally.
Skills and Experience:
- A graduate with a strong academic background.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, source, and write industry-relevant news under tight deadlines is preferred.
- Familiarity with the energy and commodity sectors is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Exceptional written, grammatical, and numerical skills (these will be assessed during the interview process), along with the ability to create engaging content.
- Strong communication skills with the capability to network and build relationships with industry executives.
- Prior experience in financial or energy journalism is beneficial but not essential.
- Excellent coordination and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Additional language skills are advantageous but not required.
