About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Digital Forensic Technician to join our team at Essex Police. As a Senior Digital Forensic Technician, you will play a critical role in the collection and extraction of digital evidence in support of criminal investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and extract digital evidence using standard operating procedures
  • Provide advice and assistance to officers and staff concerning the proportionate extraction of digital data
  • Utilize streamlined, targeted extraction techniques or triage capability of sized digital devices to enable faster charging decisions
  • Develop and maintain your competence under the quality standard ISO 17025 and ensure best practice is shared amongst colleagues
  • Update your technical knowledge of specialized Digital Forensic procedures and advancements within the Digital Forensic field

Requirements:

  • Education to A Level standard or at least 2 years' recent experience within a Digital Forensic service provider (law enforcement or private sector)
  • Experience of leading digital forensic tools currently employed nationally
  • Highly motivated team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to manage a high caseload and utilize coaching methods to provide an environment that is both supportive and constructive to other members of the team
  • High degree of emotional resilience and ability to work to tight deadlines

Working Arrangements:

The Senior Digital Forensic Technician role is shift based, with a 6-week pattern that includes working 1 weekend in 6. Shifts will be detailed below:

Shifts:

  • AM shift: 0700 – 1500
  • PM shift: 1200 – 2000
  • Weekend shift: 0800 – 1600
