Kier Group is excited to present a unique opportunity for a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in managing a significant construction project, contributing to the successful delivery of high-profile developments.

Position Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will engage in a variety of commercial responsibilities aimed at overseeing project costs and risks, ensuring optimal value for investment while adhering to legal and quality standards as per the agreed contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily tasks will encompass:

  • Structuring projects into manageable work packages for effective procurement.
  • Evaluating subcontractor bids and assigning work packages accordingly.
  • Negotiating with the supply chain to secure the best possible value.
  • Overseeing payment applications from subcontractors.
  • Preparing and submitting payment applications to clients.
  • Tracking actual expenditures against budgeted costs through Cost Value Reconciliation Reports (CVR).
  • Final account preparation.
  • Supervising team workloads and ensuring efficient collaboration.
  • Verifying and compiling commercial data from the team.

Candidate Profile

This role is ideal for candidates who possess:

  • A relevant academic qualification, such as a Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience in delivering high-value commercial construction projects as part of a team.
  • Background in Tier 1 main contracting.
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC and JCT contract conditions.
