About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accountant to take on a challenging and rewarding position. As a Semi Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for producing and reviewing management accounts, primarily on Xero. You will also draft commentary on management accounts, highlighting key business insights, and ensure accurate bookkeeping, monitor cashflow, and prepare VAT returns.
Key Responsibilities
- Management Accounts Production: Produce and review management accounts, primarily on Xero.
- Commentary and Analysis: Draft commentary on management accounts, highlighting key business insights.
- Bookkeeping and VAT: Ensure accurate bookkeeping, monitor cashflow, and prepare VAT returns.
- Client Support: Assist in setting up procedures for new companies and address client queries.
- Liaison and Communication: Liaise with clients and the outsourcing payroll team.
- Confidentiality and Security: Maintain cost-effective work and client confidentiality.
- Accounting and Tax Services: Prepare small/medium company accounts and simple corporation tax returns.
- Client Engagement: Engage directly with clients to solve queries and handle bespoke tax/accounting projects.
Essential Requirements
- Accounting Qualifications: Qualified AAT, Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA), or Qualified by Experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Xero and Excel.
Desirable Requirements
- Outsourced Accounting Experience: 2 years in outsourced accounting, handling bookkeeping, VAT, and management accounts.
- IRIS Accounts Production: Knowledge of IRIS accounts production.
- Advanced Excel and Data Analysis: Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
- Cloud Accounting Software: Familiarity with Silverfin, Quickbooks, Hubdoc, Sage, Dext, and Expensify.
Package
- Salary: £28,000 - £35,000.
- Holidays: 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
- Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
- Remote Working: 2 days per week remote working.
- Private Medical Cover: Private Medical cover.
