Logistics People is seeking skilled HGV Class 1 Transport Operators to join our dynamic team. This role involves working on a Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) basis, providing essential transportation services.
Experience Requirement:
A minimum of 6 months of HGV Class 1 driving experience is essential.
Location:
The position is based in a key logistics hub.
Working Hours:
Flexible shift patterns are available, including various morning and evening start times.
Compensation:
Competitive pay rates are offered, including holiday pay:
- Weekday Day Shifts: £14.62 per hour
- Weekday Night Shifts: £15.59 per hour
- Saturday Day Shifts: £17.55 per hour
- Saturday Night Shifts: £18.70 per hour
- Sunday Day Shifts: £21.94 per hour
- Sunday Night Shifts: £23.38 per hour
Role Overview:
As a Transport Operator, you will be responsible for:
- Transporting temperature-sensitive goods in refrigerated vehicles.
- Executing trunking operations, ensuring timely delivery between distribution centers.
- Delivering various products to retail locations.
- Handling general haulage tasks, moving goods between different sites.
- Performing manual handling duties as required during loading and unloading.
- Conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues.
- Maintaining accurate delivery records and complying with legal requirements.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and using personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A valid HGV 1/C+E Licence.
- No more than 6 penalty points and no DD/DR code convictions.
- A current DCPC and Tacho cards.
- Knowledge of Driver's hours and Working Time Directive legislation.
- The ability to perform necessary vehicle checks and report defects accurately.
- Compliance with on-site health and safety regulations.
- Strong communication skills.
