Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead and manage our building trade branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximising sales opportunities and delivering excellent customer service across the branch.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Financial Performance: Accountable for the financial performance of the branch, including sales and gross profit targets.
  • Strategic Implementation: Proactively implement the agreed company strategy for the branch, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Team Management: Support and coach direct reports to take responsibility for their daily performance, and implement sales strategies to achieve sales and gross profit targets.
  • Brand Awareness: Protect and grow the brand awareness of the company in the marketplace.
  • Reporting: Report on the progress of implementing agreed initiatives and the ongoing performance against agreed targets.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure the branch operates to the highest Health and Safety Standards and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Experience: A proven and successful track record managing a builders merchants branch.
  • Knowledge: A good knowledge of the building trade and associated products.
  • Sales Strategy: A proven track record of successfully implementing sales strategies that grow sales and gross profit performance while also finding ways to be more cost-efficient.
  • Leadership: Strong ability to develop and nurture relationships with key suppliers and customers alike.
  • Customer Service: Experience dealing with a broad cross-section of customer types, including trade, retail, house builders, contractors, and local authorities.
  • Recruitment: Natural leadership skills that colleagues respect and want to follow, with the ability to recruit the right people for the right position.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of using SAP systems.
