Youth Engagement Monitoring Specialist

Working Style:
This is a fixed-term contract / secondment opportunity for a duration of 2 years.
The Youth Engagement Monitoring Team is dedicated to addressing the long-term disengagement of young individuals from educational pathways, vocational training, and employment opportunities. This involves actively following up with and referring young people classified as NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) to the Employability and Skills Team.
This position necessitates proficient data entry capabilities with a strong emphasis on accuracy, meticulous attention to detail, an understanding of the challenges faced by young people identified as NEET, and the capacity to collaborate effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for verifying and documenting the educational, employment, or training status of all young residents in Essex, adhering to the Local Authority's statutory obligations for monitoring and reporting on Participation Rates.
- Managing a significant volume of incoming and outgoing communications.
- Contributing to the follow-up of young individuals identified as NEET, ensuring data is current to facilitate referrals across the Skills team for optimal outcomes for young residents in Essex.
- Ensuring compliance with data recording legislation and guidelines, accurately capturing and documenting data in line with established performance metrics.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to clarify requirements and achieve timely data collection and statutory reporting.
- Providing guidance and support to stakeholders and partners regarding the tracking of young individuals identified as NEET.
- Delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring consistency and adherence to established outcomes and service levels.
- Maintaining individual caseloads, conducting regular cross-border checks, and making referrals with Local Authorities, employing innovative tracking methods.
- Partnering with TPS and Youth Service colleagues to support the transition into EET for those with identified special educational needs.
- Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Educated to RQF Level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent through experience.
- Ability to develop skills and gain experience within the role.
- Familiarity with local support services available within Essex.
- Experience in data entry and converting outputs into management information. Knowledge of data protection policies and procedures.
- Understanding of the needs of young individuals identified as NEET.
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, serving as the primary point of contact for young people, parents, and external agencies, and able to liaise confidently with senior leaders across various educational settings.
- Experience in collaborative efforts to achieve shared outcomes, with evidence of managing one's own workload.
- Experience with a solution-oriented approach, reflective of statutory reporting requirements.
