Position: Legal Counsel

Identifi Global Resources is seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to join our team. Collaborating closely with the Head of Procurement, you will deliver expert guidance on the drafting, reviewing, and negotiation of commercial agreements. This role is pivotal, offering an opportunity to engage deeply with both the business and the Commercial team while managing a variety of legal documents that support the broader organizational objectives.

  • Admission to practice in England and Wales
  • Demonstrated in-house legal experience within the Financial Services sector
  • Strong technical legal expertise with a focus on Commercial Law
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with diverse professionals and stakeholders
  • Proficient in working autonomously, exercising commercial insight and sound legal judgment
  • Exceptional organizational capabilities
  • Detail-oriented and logical thinker
  • Adaptable to evolving circumstances and objectives
  • Team-oriented individual willing to support colleagues as needed
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across all levels
  • Qualified Solicitor with 0 to 3 years of post-qualification experience

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead on all major commercial agreements, including Terms and Conditions for products and services, payment services agreements, client agreements, IT contracts, third-party supplier agreements (including outsourcing), and various internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Deliver timely and effective support to back-office functions, including Human Resources, General Administration, Financial Management, Risk & Compliance, and Internal Assurance.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of regulatory matters pertinent to the client's commercial agreements, including operational resilience, outsourcing, data privacy, and UK GDPR.
  • Provide sound legal counsel and assistance to various departments and stakeholders, including Senior Management, regarding commercial agreements with clients and suppliers.
  • Recognize the need for external legal counsel when necessary and manage the allocation of work between in-house and external attorneys, ensuring cost efficiency.
  • Oversee the briefing and management of external legal counsel, ensuring adherence to budget constraints and the delivery of high-quality work products.
  • Contribute to broader legal risk management initiatives, including the drafting and implementation of relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely reporting and escalation of legal risks and pertinent issues to the Head of Department.
  • Effectively manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality and efficient service.
