We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for the role of Assessment & Approvals Specialist at our Perth Head Office, available on a part-time basis (0.6 FTE, 3 days a week) for a maximum term contract of 12 months, with the potential for extension.

Role Overview

As the Assessment & Approvals Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to assist the organization in identifying safety, environmental, quality, and training (SEQT) constraints and requirements during the planning and prioritization of network development, maintenance, and inspections. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying essential environmental, planning, and heritage constraints and approvals to support project design, scoping, and successful execution, while providing timely and relevant environmental guidance.
  • Aiding the organization in recognizing, managing, and fulfilling SEQT requirements, including environmental, health/pollution, heritage, land access, urban and regional planning, and public safety considerations during project planning and development.
  • Fostering an inclusive, effective, and safe work environment by taking accountability for decisions and behaviors, and by building strong relationships with team members, business partners, and external stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Urban and Regional Planning, Law, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental, heritage, and statutory planning approvals.
  • Proven capability in assessing and mitigating risks associated with design and asset management activities.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders.
  • A self-motivated and determined work ethic.
  • A valid WA Driver's License Class 'C' or 'C-A'.
