Position Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to contribute to the financial operations within our End of Life Services sector. This position involves assisting in the preparation and management of accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly reconciliations and compile sales data across all End of Life Services, including cash statement postings and resolving any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the management team to address finance-related inquiries and provide a monthly financial performance review, leading quarterly financial performance meetings.
- Manage the production and submission of funeral plan investments to our partners, ensuring accurate information is provided for timely reconciliations.
- Handle all aspects of funeral plan accounting, including deficits and excesses.
- Oversee the monthly Management Accounts Reporting for End of Life Funeral Operations, ensuring adherence to deadlines and high-quality output.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and manage funeral debtors, including the creation and posting of Bad Debt Provisions.
- Administer credit control for funeral homes, documenting debts for write-off and liaising with external debt management services.
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing budgets and quarterly forecasts for End of Life Services.
- Support the Financial Processing Team Manager in reconciling and resolving discrepancies in the Purchase Invoice Matching system.
- Participate in the weekly cash management system close procedures and flash sales reporting.
- Engage in other finance-related tasks as necessary, focusing on process improvement and operational efficiency.
Essential Skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge when necessary.
- Prior experience in Management Accounting.
- Strong analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Excel and possess a high level of IT literacy.
- AAT qualification is required; CIMA progress is desirable.
