Band 6 Safeguarding Children Nurse

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Band 6 Nurse or Midwife to join their team in the Pregnancy Advisory Service (PAS) at the Central Health Clinic.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a range of nursing skills, including patient consultations, ultrasound scanning, informal counselling, sexual health screening, and contraception advice. They will also be expected to administer and/or issue prescribed medication as appropriate, following NMC professional guidelines.
The ideal candidate will have relevant post-registration nursing or midwifery experience, up-to-date knowledge and experience of working in a sexual health/contraception/abortion/Gynaecological service, and experience of instruction and assessing in clinical practice. They will also be able to work with all age groups, genders, and sexualities, and have experience of safeguarding patients.
The successful candidate will be a registered general nurse or midwife with current NMC registration, and will have a qualification in teaching, assessing, and mentoring. They will also have a recognized contraception and sexual health course (Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive healthcare) and a FSRH Letter of Competence in Insertion and removal of Subdermal Implants SDI.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate highly effective verbal and written communication and negotiation skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead and influence change. They will also be able to work flexibly and autonomously, and have a non-judgmental attitude.
