We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Theatre Nurse to join our team at the Day Surgery Unit, Cirencester Treatment Centre. As a Theatre Nurse, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons during surgical procedures and providing high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and sterile environment for patients and staff.
- Prepare patients for clinical/operative procedures and provide immediate post-operative care.
- Help to control cross infection by observing departmental policy regarding dress, and the maintenance of a clean working environment.
- Act as a scrub nurse, assisting surgeons during surgical procedures and ensuring a safe and sterile environment.
- NMC level 1 Registered Nurse with current anaesthetic qualification or HCPC registered ODP.
- Enhanced levels of dexterity and accuracy pertaining to clinical skills e.g. administration of intravenous injections, scrub nursing.
- Demonstrate ability to assess patient condition and implement appropriate care, within the multidisciplinary team.
- To deliver safe care within a challenging and changing clinical environment, using equipment and resources safely and as appropriate.
- To adhere to all Trust policies and procedures and professional code of conduct.
- To input and retrieve patient and staff information from computer-based systems.
- NMC level 1 Registered Nurse with current anaesthetic qualification or HCPC registered ODP.
- Have excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills including a good command and understanding of English, punctuation and grammar. Flexible Team Worker with the ability to work under instruction and minimal supervision.
- Ability to de-escalate and resolve complaints locally from patients, visitors and staff.
- Have good IT skills including a working knowledge of EPR systems and digital rostering systems.
