About the Role

Amentum is a leading global technical and engineering services partner, renowned for its operational excellence, mission focus, and successful execution underpinned by a strong culture of safety and ethics.

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join our team on a permanent basis, working on one of our project sites located near Newbury and our HQ in Warrington. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and administering sub-contracts with our supply chain for major design, construction, and decommissioning projects for a major nuclear programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an effective contract administration and procurement management programme to ensure compliance with requirements, assurance of commercial delivery, and adherence to nuclear quality control protocols.
  • Manage procurement activities and resources effectively, ensuring value-for-money and delivery excellence.
  • Administer subcontracts and procurement, reporting cost and commercial performance of work packages, and supporting the Programme Senior Commercial Lead in meeting project goals and objectives.
  • Liaise with internal and external customers/stakeholders to ensure appropriate dissemination of commercial information, guidance, continuous improvement, and reporting.
  • Implement commercial systems and procedures to ensure compliance with programme-level commercial requirements.
  • Lead contract development and management, including management of change with the client.
  • Closely liaise with other project commercial teams and the Project Commercial Director.
  • Develop and manage supply chain frameworks to ensure value-for-money and delivery excellence.
  • Identify, assess, manage, and report project commercial risks.
  • Collate and analyse Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in line with project commercial objectives.
Requirements
  • Hold a degree in a relevant discipline, such as Commercial, Quantity Surveying, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Have well-developed and practical knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 ECC and good familiarity with associated NEC suite of contracts.
  • Be a RICS Chartered Surveyor or have equivalent experience.
  • Have recent and relevant experience in a commercial delivery role, preferably in a senior capacity.
  • Have experience of working collaboratively in a project/programme/client environment.
  • Have experience of working in a safety and quality-driven environment.
  • Have dispute avoidance and dispute management experience.
  • Have experience of working in the nuclear industry.
  • Hold a Security Clearance (SC) or be willing to undergo the SC process.
  • CEMAR experience is preferable but not essential.
