About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatric Medicine Specialist to join our team at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to older patients in Ashford, Canterbury, and Thanet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Frailty Assessment unit and work closely with our emergency department team to ensure seamless care pathways for patients.
  • Develop and implement an Acute Physician led AMU model, working in collaboration with specialty in reach rotas to improve patient outcomes.
  • Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients, adhering to the National Service Framework for Frailty and Geriatric Medicine and relevant NICE guidance.
Requirements
  • Experience in Frailty and Emergency Department pathways.
  • Professional qualifications, including full GMC registration and specialist registration or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
  • Higher degree in Geriatric Medicine (desirable).
  • Experience in audit, service improvement, and clinical governance.
