We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Content and Communications Coordinator to join our dedicated team at The Rhodes Trust. This position is integral to our small yet dynamic communications team, providing essential administrative assistance and engaging in both digital and print communication efforts.


About The Rhodes Trust:
The Rhodes Trust is a prestigious educational charity that awards Rhodes Scholarships to outstanding students globally, enabling them to pursue studies at the University of Oxford. In addition, we collaborate with several esteemed organizations to support initiatives such as the Mandela Rhodes Foundation, Atlantic Institute, Schmidt Science Fellows, and RISE.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the communications team in all aspects of communication activities, articulating the mission and vision of the Rhodes Scholarships and our partnerships in a clear and innovative manner.
  • Uphold the Rhodes Trust values of leadership excellence, global progress, lifelong fellowship, and philanthropic giving through various communication channels.
  • Provide administrative support, including managing central communication inboxes, organizing mailing lists, and maintaining contact records using Salesforce CRM.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop mass email campaigns aligned with our communications calendar.
  • Create engaging content for social media platforms, particularly during key outreach periods, including applicant engagement and event coverage.
  • Manage event registrations, promote events across social media and web platforms, and assist in creating a welcoming atmosphere for attendees.
  • Produce both short and long-form content for social media, blogs, news articles, and email communications. Participate in peer reviews and proofreading of colleagues' content.


Qualifications:

  • Exceptional written communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • A creative mindset with an interest in contemporary social media trends and content.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Content Management Systems, social media analytics, Hootsuite Pro, Microsoft Office, and CRM systems like Salesforce (training available).
