Position Overview: Hays Construction and Property is a prominent agency supplier to the HM Prison Service, focusing on the provision of maintenance trades and support operatives. We are currently seeking Project Escorts to accompany building contractors within a secure prison environment.

Role Duration: This position will initially be temporary, with the potential for a permanent role or other opportunities within the prison service as the project progresses. The expected duration of this role is anticipated to be no less than three years, contingent upon the timely completion of work by the contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining the safety and security of the establishment.
  • Escort visitors and contractors throughout the prison premises.
  • Perform gate duties, ensuring no unauthorized individuals or items enter the facility.
  • Monitor the entry and exit of tools and equipment brought in by tradesmen.
  • Challenge any potential security risks or compromises.

Candidate Requirements: While formal qualifications or prior experience are not mandatory, candidates must demonstrate a strong security awareness and possess the ability to address potential risks effectively. Reliability, consistency, and exceptional interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.

Competencies: Successful candidates will be evaluated based on their integrity, respect for others, ability to build relationships, teamwork, effective communication, and commitment to personal and professional development.

Training: Comprehensive training will be provided, fully funded by the establishment/department.

Work Schedule: The role requires availability Monday to Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
