The Payments and Cards Operations department is integral to the product ownership division, serving as a vital link that effectively collaborates with various specialists within Handelsbanken plc, such as compliance, risk management, financial crime prevention, and finance. This department is crucial for enhancing the UK’s product and service offerings, playing a significant role in the bank's growth in the region.
The Payments & Card Operations team is responsible for delivering payment and transactional banking services across all UK branches and Handelsbanken Group offices. The services provided encompass a comprehensive range of UK clearing options, as well as handling both domestic and international payments and card transactions.
The Payments and Cards Operations Specialist will report directly to the Deputy Head of Payment and Card Operations or the Senior Operations Team Lead. This role involves collaborating with a team of operations officers to ensure the accurate processing of all customer payments and to thoroughly investigate any payment-related inquiries in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team to prioritize daily activities and workflows in response to changing demands.
- Independently execute daily tasks in line with established procedures and controls to ensure accurate payment processing and support branches with payment-related inquiries and investigations.
- Meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
- Take ownership of resolving payment queries, exceptions, and clearing discrepancies as swiftly as possible.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders, including branch personnel, finance, risk, compliance, and third-party payment providers to facilitate investigations.
- Maintain and update relevant, accurate, and timely management information in the team work tracker as required by the Head of Payment & Card Operations.
- Assist with and undertake ad-hoc tasks and projects as necessary.
- Support the implementation of changes to payment processes when required.
- Contribute to the development and upkeep of Payment Operations procedures.
