Role Objective:

The Emergency Preparedness Advisor will play a crucial role in ensuring that our construction sites at Hinkley Point C are equipped with comprehensive emergency management strategies, trained personnel, and the necessary resources to effectively respond to incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be tasked with:

  • Overseeing a specialized team dedicated to enhancing emergency response protocols.
  • Creating, implementing, and evaluating emergency drills and training exercises to ensure readiness for potential incidents.
  • Collaborating with management teams to align emergency planning with project timelines and requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation related to emergency procedures and response strategies.
  • Ensuring that emergency equipment is properly stored, inspected, and maintained in accordance with legal and regulatory standards to guarantee optimal readiness.

Qualifications & Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in supervising teams within dynamic and fast-paced operational environments.
  • Strong research and planning skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently, demonstrating excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to challenges.
  • The capacity to provide expert emergency management guidance to various management teams.
  • The ability to represent the interests of the BYLOR Emergency Preparedness Lead in organizational and external meetings as required.

Additional Information:

All positions at BYLOR are directly employed by either Laing O'Rourke or Bouygues Travaux Publics, offering competitive remuneration, private health insurance, pension schemes, and annual leave entitlements. Some roles may also include a vehicle allowance.
