Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements
  • Registered Nurse, Midwife, or Genetic Counsellor (AHCS or HCPC), holding relevant and current professional registration or its equivalent.
Experience

Mandatory Requirements
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in genomics, clinical genetics, and/or NHS screening initiatives, fetal medicine, or pediatrics, demonstrating advanced practice in a specialized field.
  • Proven experience in collaborating across various organizations and professional sectors to achieve shared objectives.
  • Experience in creating and/or providing educational and training programs for clinical personnel.
  • Experience in engaging with patients and their families dealing with inherited or rare conditions.
  • Experience in managing or executing clinical research initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in managing or executing clinical research initiatives.
  • Expertise in genomic medicine services or a demonstrated understanding of current professional issues related to genetics within the NHS and associated fields.
Skills

Mandatory Skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of liaising, presenting, motivating, negotiating, training, empathizing, and reassuring a diverse array of stakeholders.
  • Proficient in IT, including competency in MS Office applications, with experience in utilizing EPIC or other computerized hospital database/information systems.
Preferred Skills
  • Demonstrated counseling skills within a clinical environment.

Applicants must possess appropriate UK professional registration.

The successful candidate will have access to vulnerable individuals during their regular duties, thus this position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020, necessitating a Disclosure submission to the Disclosure and Barring Service to verify any prior criminal convictions.
