Position Overview: The Commercial Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in delivering commercial insights and support throughout the business unit on designated projects, programs, and budgets, while ensuring adherence to commercial governance and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Location: Bristol (hybrid working model with 1-2 days onsite per week after initial training)
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: £50,000-£65,000 (dependent on experience) + benefits
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary advisor on all commercial aspects related to daily task assignments, ensuring robust commercial governance is consistently applied.
- Evaluate and negotiate a range of commercial contracts, including Terms and Conditions, Framework Agreements, and Subcontracts, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, timelines, and customer requirements while managing commercial risks.
- Lead the renegotiation of contract modifications within an assigned portfolio, effectively managing commercial requirements and associated risks.
- Provide commercial guidance and support during the bidding process to uphold commercial governance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain a unified corporate approach to commercial strategies.
- Offer commercial insights and support to foster best practices, enhance commercial processes, and integrate commercial governance within the business unit.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of UK Ministry of Defence contracting policies, procurement regulations, and tendering procedures.
- Deliver expertise on commercial strategies related to pricing and partnerships to ensure profitable operations and competitive proposals.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in a Commercial or Contracts Management role.
- Experience in the Defence, Aerospace, or similar technical sectors is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative team player.
- Eligibility to obtain UK Security (SC) clearance.
To be considered for the role of Commercial Operations Manager, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria to live and work in the UK.
