Overview:
Service Care Solutions is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to support a Local Authority in Cambridge. This position is essential in assisting the Head of Shared Internal Audit in executing a thorough audit function across critical domains such as contracting, information governance, ICT, project management, and corporate governance.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct risk-based audits and evaluations of significant financial systems as detailed in the annual Audit Plan.
2. Generate reports assessing control effectiveness and compliance, recommending measures to rectify any identified weaknesses or non-compliance.
3. Provide expert guidance on various organizational initiatives, including projects, procurement, and procedural systems.
4. Lead special investigations, including whistleblowing inquiries, as necessary.
5. Oversee peer reviews and remain informed about audit methodologies and technological innovations.

Candidate Qualifications:
- Part-qualified or fully qualified CCAB or MIIA.
- Demonstrated experience in internal auditing with a robust understanding of risk-based auditing methodologies.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to analyze data and produce clear, concise reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other essential IT applications.
- A professional demeanor, capable of working independently, adapting to evolving demands, and committed to ongoing learning and development.
