Kepak is seeking an Engineering Apprentice to join our dynamic team. You will receive guidance from a Mentor who will support you throughout your apprenticeship journey and help you achieve your qualifications.
This apprenticeship serves as an ideal entry point into the Engineering field and the broader Food Industry, featuring a structured training program. As an apprentice, you will earn while you learn, as Kepak compensates you during your training while you work towards completing an Engineer apprenticeship standard.

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance as instructed.
- Perform maintenance and corrective actions based on audits, inspections, and production reports.
- Work towards continuous improvements in plant and equipment to minimize recurring failures and enhance site efficiency.
- Maintain workshops, plant rooms, and engineering storage areas to exceed internal and external audit standards.
- Ensure workshop tools and equipment are clean, serviceable, and ready for use in accordance with tool control requirements.
- Keep accurate records of completed work using both paper-based and digital systems.
- Support the engineering function to reduce production downtime and help the department achieve its objectives.
- Identify any additional spare parts needed for tasks, with usage monitored through monthly KPIs.
- Report any risks or evidence of unsafe or non-compliant products, equipment, packaging, or raw materials to a designated manager for prompt resolution.
Learning Outcomes:
- Grasp mathematical techniques, formulas, and calculations relevant to a maintenance environment and the equipment being serviced.
- Comprehend mechanical, electrical, electronic, fluid power, and process control principles in a mechatronics maintenance context.
- Understand the functioning of maintained equipment and the operating parameters of individual components and their interactions.
- Learn fault diagnostic methods, techniques, and tools used in equipment and systems maintenance.
- Become familiar with condition monitoring methods and tools, understanding how to interpret the information gathered.
- Assist in planning maintenance activities effectively.
- Learn strategies to minimize machinery downtime through the implementation of planned preventative maintenance programs.
