Position Overview

We are seeking a committed IT Compliance and Risk Management Specialist to become a part of our team at GKN Aerospace, a prominent provider in the aerospace sector. In this position, you will be tasked with the development and upkeep of the Global IT governance framework, ensuring adherence to compliance standards, certifications, and audit preparedness throughout our operations. Your primary objective will be to foster ongoing enhancements and robust governance within the IT department, significantly contributing to the integration of IT components within the Aerospace Policy Management System.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership in Governance

  • Oversee IT documentation governance to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Establish and maintain an IT policy management framework that serves as a standard for global operations.
  • Evaluate and refine the Global IT governance framework to adapt to changing organizational needs.

Excellence in Auditing and Compliance

  • Assist in the planning and execution of IT audit initiatives to comply with regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and manage audit follow-up actions to ensure timely compliance.
  • Provide updates on audit planning and corrective measures to the IT leadership team.

Training and Skill Development

  • Identify training needs across the IT department to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Offer insights and reporting on training necessities to the IT leadership team.

Collaboration with Stakeholders

  • Engage with business units to ensure that audit strategies align with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to optimize resource distribution for upcoming audits.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on IT governance issues.

Management of IT Risks and Compliance Oversight

  • Assist in the oversight of IT risks and provide proactive recommendations for compliance.
  • Guide key stakeholders on audit and risk management protocols.
  • Equip IT teams with the knowledge to effectively address complex challenges.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in Audit and Risk Management within an IT context.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Familiarity with LEAN methodologies and effective problem-solving techniques.

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of IT systems and standard frameworks.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing and engineering settings.
