About the Role

As a Prisoner Escort Officer at Serco, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and secure transportation of detainees to and from court. This is a challenging yet rewarding position that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect detainees from prisons or police stations and transport them safely and securely to courts
  • Ensure the care and well-being of detainees during transportation and while in custody
  • Accompany defendants in court rooms and cells, and complete paperwork and data entry as required
  • Search property or people as necessary, and maintain accurate records of searches
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a current driver's license and a C1 License (valid CPC card desirable) or D License (with valid CPC card & Tacho Graph desirable). You must also be reasonably fit and have good written and verbal communication skills.

Our Assessment Process

Our assessment process includes an online assessment, a briefing call, a competency-based virtual interview, and a short role-play and written exercise. All roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 4, and all offers of employment are subject to Ministry of Justice Enhanced Level 2 checks with Enhanced DBS (Adult & Child Barring) and satisfactory employment references.
