A leading manufacturer of milled & cereal products is seeking a highly skilled Sales Account Manager to join their team in the UK. Reporting directly to the Sales Director, this role will focus on maintaining and winning business with B2B manufacturing accounts ranging from small SME's to larger blue chip organisations.
This position plays a critical role in building and maintaining strong relationships with existing UK customers while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across our portfolio of food ingredients within the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and secure new business opportunities in the oat milling and malting industry, including potential customers, partnerships, and distribution channels.
- Act as primary contact for major accounts, maintain strong relationships, address needs, resolve issues to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to upsell and cross-sell oat milling and malt ingredients products.
- Assist in development and implementation of the sales strategy to the assigned market, aiming to achieve budgeted sales and growth targets.
- Track and analyse sales performance metrics, market trends, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions within the assigned market.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and presentations for senior management, provide insights and recommendations specific to the assigned market.
- Liaise with customers and product innovation team on new product development.
- Develop proposals and presentations tailored to the assigned market.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Degree in business, marketing, food science or related field.
- Minimum 5 years progressive sales and account management experience.
- A valid driver's license is required.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in the food processing industry and commodity markets specific to the assigned market.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated presentation and negotiation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service, capable of developing and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented with demonstrated ability to achieve targets and drive revenue growth.
- High-level business acumen, with the ability to understand and navigate complex business environments.
- Fluent in English, both oral and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Valid passport with the ability to travel within the UK, EU, and international markets.
