Fortalice is seeking a compassionate BAME Domestic Abuse Recovery Worker to support women and families affected by domestic abuse in rebuilding their lives. As a key member of our team, you will empower women and children in our refuge, focusing on rebuilding confidence and relationships.
Purpose of the Role:The BAME Domestic Abuse Recovery Worker will address language, cultural, and faith barriers to enhance engagement with Fortalice services, ensuring a positive and empowering experience for our residents. You will work primarily with clients from the BAME community, conducting detailed assessments, creating SMART support plans, and collaborating with multi-agency partners to address trauma and domestic abuse.
Key Skills and Qualifications:- Fluency in Urdu and strong English communication skills
- Conducting detailed assessments and creating SMART support plans
- Collaborating with multi-agency partners to address trauma and domestic abuse
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Genuine passion for helping vulnerable women and children and an understanding of culturally specific issues (e.g., FGM, 'honour-based' violence)
