Job Title: Software Controls Engineer - Oil & Gas Sector

Location: Remote Opportunity

Hours: Full-time, 37.5hrs per week, flexible hours

Salary range: £40,000 - £52,000 (experience dependent)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Software Controls Engineer to join our team in the Oil & Gas sector. As a Software Controls Engineer, you will contribute to supporting and delivering automation projects to our key accounts. Your role will involve the development of PLC, HMI and SCADA software on projects in a fast-paced and evolving industry sector. You will also be responsible for customer-facing duties and site work.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and modify PLC, HMI and SCADA software to meet customer requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to customers on automation solutions and best practices.
  • Conduct site surveys and assist with project quotations (engineering time and materials).

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA and HMI systems for OEMs such as Rockwell, Schneider, Mitsubishi, Aveva Wonderware and Beijer.
  • Experience with setting up, commissioning, and fault-finding of industrial networks.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematic diagrams from industrial environments.
  • Awareness of industry standards and regulations.
