Support Specialist for Young Individuals @ Strode Park Foundation

This is a full-time position with day shifts, with potential night coverage as necessary (39 hours per week on a rotational schedule). We aim to recruit passionate individuals who are committed to enhancing the lives of young people with diverse health requirements.

Role ResponsibilitiesAs a Support Specialist at Strode Park Foundation, your responsibilities will include:
- Promoting health and wellbeing while delivering comprehensive personal care to the young individuals in our care.
- Ensuring that all personal and emotional needs of the young individuals are met effectively.
- Enhancing their experiences and developmental opportunities, encouraging independence and personal growth.
- Assisting in organizing activities, outings, and vacations, and accompanying the young individuals as needed.
- Contributing to the overall maintenance of the home environment, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with health and safety standards.
At Strode Park Foundation, you will receive robust support from the outset and have access to training and development opportunities to enhance your skills.
Our organization specializes in providing care for young individuals with disabilities. The residential setting offers a balance of privacy and community engagement.
Shift patterns at Strode Park Foundation include:
- Split Shift - 6.30am – 10am then 3pm – 8pm
- Late Shift 3pm – 8pm
- Early Shift 6.30am – 10am
- Long Day 7.30am – 8pm
- Nights 7.30pm – 8am
We provide care around the clock, seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. We value dependable and adaptable staff and are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Key QualificationsThe ideal candidate for the Support Specialist role will possess:
- Strong communication skills, able to engage with young individuals and adapt to their unique needs.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality care and support, fostering independence and enjoyment for our service users.
- Initiative to create and implement engaging activities and events for the young individuals.
- The ability to work independently while seeking guidance when necessary.
- Effective oral and written communication skills for interaction with various stakeholders.
- A Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent, or a willingness to pursue this qualification.
While not mandatory, having a driving license would be advantageous, especially given the rural nature of our location.
