Position Overview:

The District Operations Manager is responsible for steering the operational team towards achieving key objectives related to safety, cost efficiency, profitability, quality, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Excellence: Drive initiatives to enhance operational performance through proactive identification of improvement opportunities.
  • Leadership: Foster a motivating environment that encourages high performance and aligns with business goals.
  • Effective Communication: Clearly convey business expectations and performance metrics to the team.
  • Team Development: Cultivate team growth by establishing Personal Action Plans and supporting them through coaching and mentoring.
  • Financial Planning: Collaborate with commercial managers to formulate annual profit plans and justify capital expenditures.
  • Local Operations Strategy: Create and implement operational plans to meet safety, profitability, quality, and service standards.
  • Target Setting: Establish operational targets for individual plants to align with market demands and service quality.
  • Forecasting: Provide monthly forecasts on operational costs and production that reflect commercial requirements.
  • Strategic Contribution: Play a role in the area strategic plan and annual budgeting process.
  • Benchmarking: Assist in identifying performance improvement opportunities through benchmarking.
  • Safety Responsibility: Ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Performance Management: Address performance issues related to productivity, cost control, service levels, and product quality.
  • Reporting: Aid in the preparation of monthly operational reports.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and analyze performance against plans, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Compliance: Ensure all activities align with organizational standards for quality management, health and safety, legal requirements, and environmental policies.
Compensation and Benefits:

Salary: £40,000 - £48,000 plus bonus
