Primary Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes

In the role of Civil / Fencing Supervisor, you will report directly to the Project Manager, overseeing a range of projects at different phases of execution. Your focus will be on ensuring that project timelines, health and safety standards, and quality benchmarks are consistently met. You will play a crucial role in risk management and achieving project objectives. This position requires close collaboration with the Project Manager to facilitate decision-making while supervising teams of civil and fencing workers across various sites and projects.

This is a full-time position based at the office, with travel to additional sites as necessary.

Key Duties

  • Oversee site operations and implement effective Service Delivery, Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental controls.
  • Manage daily site activities under the guidance of the Project/Site Manager.
  • Conduct Setting to Work, Pre Job-Briefs, Toolbox Talks, and disseminate other necessary information as directed.
  • Issue Permits to Work in situations with heightened safety or environmental risks.
  • Ensure compliance of site activities with company protocols, risk assessments, and method statements, maintaining accurate records as required.
  • Promptly inform the Project/Site Manager of any Health & Safety or Environmental incidents or near misses.
  • Ensure any environmental incidents are contained and reported immediately to the Project/Site Manager.
  • Demonstrate experience and capability in supervising large project teams with diverse elements across multiple disciplines and suppliers.
  • Leverage this expertise to promote best practices across all projects.
  • Supervise all aspects of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality, as well as resource allocation and project delivery.
  • Provide information to support the Commercial/Estimating Process.
  • Maintain records in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Ensure adequate manpower levels for project needs.
  • Contribute to the introduction of innovative concepts and techniques.
  • Ensure that documented management procedures are consistently applied across all sites/projects.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Knowledge

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role with a successful track record in managing projects and personnel.
  • Background in supervising civil and fencing operations/projects.
  • Experience in team motivation and talent development.
  • A proactive mindset with a strong commitment to success and a positive attitude aligned with Dalkia's core values.

Preferred Educational Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds or NVQ.
  • CSCS – Supervisor.
  • SSSTS/IOSH.

Completion of EDF/Dalkia supervisor training, including but not limited to Level 3 Field Supervision and Nominated Competent Person, will be required.

Required Previous Experience:

  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience in the Power, Oil & Gas, or Pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Experience in the Nuclear sector is preferred.
