About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CASS Reconciliations Manager to join our team at Close Brothers Group. As a key member of our Operations department, you will be responsible for overseeing all reconciliations conducted by the CASS Reconciliation team to ensure accurate accounting and safeguarding of client money and assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconciliation Oversight: Review and approve all reconciliations conducted by the CASS Reconciliations Team, ensuring compliance with the FCA CASS regulations and adherence to internal policies.
  • Discrepancy Management: Ensure all cash and asset reconciliation discrepancies are promptly investigated and resolved, and that reconciliation discrepancies have been allocated and reported in line with procedures.
  • Cash and Asset Management: Ensure all cash and asset shortfalls are identified and correctly funded identified via the reconciliation process.
  • Reporting and Presentations: Produce management information to internal committees and present information where required.
  • Audit and Compliance: Manage all internal or external audit requests relating to CASS reconciliations.
  • Procedure Maintenance: Ensure procedures are accurately maintained and where controls are changed, promptly updated.
  • Control Attestation: Manage the attestation process relating to CASS reconciliation controls, ensure any control failures are recorded accurately and where identified support the implementation of enhancements to these controls.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver ongoing training to the business relating to discrepancy management and the reconciliations process.
  • Process Improvement: Implement process improvements, optimisations, and changes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Incident Management: Ensure CASS incidents identified via the reconciliation process have been escalated in line with internal policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Focus on continuous improvement, identifying and acting upon opportunities to enhance the reconciliation processes and associated controls.
  • CMAR Submission: Collate data required for the production of the CMAR submission.
  • System Testing: Performance of any User Acceptance Testing or other system testing that is required relating reconciliation activities.
  • Process Leadership: Lead the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in reconciliations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Action and respond to queries from external clients in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with colleagues in Operations to resolve reconciliation discrepancies, ensuring the teams rectify the highest priority items first.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Assist colleagues with identifying the root cause for discrepancies and arranging for these to be fixed to avoid repeating issues.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading a CASS reconciliations team.
  • CASS Knowledge: Strong knowledge of CASS regulations and how these apply to both CASS Reconciliations and Operations daily or monthly procedures.
  • Technical Skills: Exposure to automated reconciliation tools, Autorek is desirable.
  • Management Skills: Evidenced ability to energise and align direct reports with the overall Company purpose, through clear direct management and guidance; and the building of high-performance team(s)
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of the regulatory frameworks and requirements that apply to the business, including the CASS rules when managing client's money or assets
