Position Overview
We are in search of an innovative and strategic leader to spearhead the establishment and execution of our Finance Academy dedicated to the South East region. This essential position will focus on developing and delivering a robust training and development framework tailored to the changing demands of our affiliated organizations.
Key Duties:
- Formulate and implement a strategic vision for the Finance Academy, ensuring alignment with the requirements of the South East finance sector.
- Create and facilitate a wide array of training sessions and events, encompassing various finance-related subjects.
- Oversee and maximize a £150k yearly budget to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Cultivate and sustain strong partnerships with senior finance leaders across approximately 40 organizations.
- Collaborate with the HFMA branch to guarantee effective management and organization of academy initiatives.
Ideal Candidate Profile

- Demonstrated experience in crafting and executing training initiatives.
- Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of the finance sector and the challenges faced by finance professionals.

- A commitment to enhancing the skills and expertise of finance professionals.
Primary Responsibilities
The Director of the South East Academy will be accountable for leading the Academy and ensuring the successful delivery of all National One NHS Finance initiatives within the South East region, as well as locally agreed projects. You will collaborate closely with NHS England, the Department of Health and Social Care, and the representative professional organizations for all functions.
You will work in partnership with Chief Finance Officers and their teams across NHS organizations in the South East of England, along with various national bodies, to ensure that the diverse developmental needs of all personnel are effectively addressed.
Requirements
The successful candidate must possess a full, valid UK driving license and have access to a vehicle for business purposes (unless exempt under the Equality Act 2010).
