Junior Sous Chef Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our team at Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations of our iasg Restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest quality and standards.
  • Supervise and train a team of 7 chefs, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are able to deliver exceptional service to our guests.
  • Manage approximately 60-120 covers per day, ensuring that all orders are fulfilled efficiently and effectively.
  • Support the development of menus, working closely with the Head Chef to ensure that they are aligned with the hotel's brand standards and customer expectations.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or Senior Chef de Partie in a similar style of venue, with a track record of success and evidence of progression.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week across 4 shifts, including weekends and evenings.
  • Experience supervising and training a team, with a passion for developing and coaching others.
  • Minimum level 3 Food Safety certification and knowledge of HACCP.
  • Knowledge of Micros Simphony (or relevant POS), Procure Wizard, and Dimensions.
