Position: CNC Programmer - Miller/Turner Specialist

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: Oldham

Overtime: Available at x1.5, x2 on Sundays

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Rotating 3 shifts

  • 6am - 2pm Monday – Friday
  • 2pm - 10pm Monday - Friday
  • 10pm - 6am Monday - Friday

Compensation: Starting from £17.16 per hour + 35% Shift Allowance

Incentives: Additional £1.50 per hour for operating dual machines

Company Overview: Our client, based in Oldham, specializes in executing a diverse array of intricate assemblies and custom, batch-manufactured components for various industries, including oil & gas, nuclear, aerospace, defense, and rail.

Role Overview:

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified engineer with substantial experience in programming, setting, and operating CNC machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programming, setting, and operating 3-axis and 5-axis milling machines
  • Working with various machinery including Soraluce floor borers, Doosan Horizontal borers, Elgamill, Mazak, and Hartford VMC
  • Conducting dimensional and visual inspections using appropriate measuring tools
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Working a total of 37.5 hours per week

Candidate Profile:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in 3 & 5 axis programming
  • Experienced with Fanuc, Siemens, or Heidenhain systems
  • Capable of interpreting technical drawings
  • Committed to quality assurance
  • Motivated to achieve the highest standards of workmanship
  • Experience with tight tolerances and deadlines
  • Flexible regarding working hours, including potential overtime
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
