Senior Highways Engineer

M Group Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Highways Engineer to lead on the delivery of highway design solutions in the East of England.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project lead for the design of highways maintenance and improvement schemes, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery.
  • Conduct site visits for surveys and inspections to support the design process, ensuring compliance with internal quality standards and processes.
  • Resource planning and coordination of multi-disciplinary teams, including sub-consultants, to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensure legal compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation, and carry out people management, including training and development, staff performance reviews, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Work collaboratively with customers to understand and develop project objectives and deliverables, and evidence of leading multi-disciplinary projects to achieve customer expectations.

Requirements:

  • Extensive design and construction experience in highways, with practical experience in the application and review of alignment, drainage, and sign design software and AutoCad package.
  • Experience of commercial awareness in project delivery, National Highways & Local Authority design standards & contracts, and design resource planning and programme management.
  • Computer literate with Microsoft packages, and experience of the NEC suite of contract documents and contract administration.
  • UK/EEC driving licence.
