Financial Accountant Job Description

Reed Accountancy & Finance is seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join their team on a temporary basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and experienced professional to work with a leading recruitment partner and their esteemed client.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis, and commentaries.
  • Financial Record Maintenance: Ensure that financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  • Financial Policy Development: Establish and maintain financial policies and management information systems, alongside recommending changes to improve systems and financial performance.
  • Year-End Accounts Preparation: Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts.
  • Internal Audits: Conduct internal audits such as wage reviews.
  • External Liaison: Liaise with external auditors and deal with any financial irregularities as they arise.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports and submissions to relevant government entities.
  • Financial System Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate financial information systems and suggest improvements where needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience as a Financial Accountant.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Analytical Abilities: Excellent analytical and numerical abilities.
  • Financial Knowledge: Solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
  • Legislative Knowledge: Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
  • Professional Qualification: Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent is desirable.
