Position Overview

Swift Placements is representing a distinguished and successful manufacturer specializing in temperature regulation systems and machinery, currently experiencing substantial growth and investment. We are looking to hire an Industrial Cooling Systems Technician to enhance our operational capabilities.

The primary objective of this role is to deliver maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and commissioning services for industrial cooling systems across diverse manufacturing settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive inspections and evaluations of existing cooling systems to determine required repairs, upgrades, or replacements.
  • Diagnose intricate issues related to industrial cooling systems, including electrical, mechanical, and control components, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and methodologies.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment, components, and systems to restore optimal performance and reduce operational downtime.
  • Execute commissioning tasks for cooling systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications and industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to provide technical assistance and guidance on system operation, maintenance, and best practices.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments to cooling equipment to ensure peak operational efficiency.
  • Carry out system performance assessments.
  • Maintain detailed records of all service activities, including repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians, ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an Industrial Cooling Technician, with a focus on breakdowns, fault diagnosis, repair, and maintenance.
  • Expertise in conducting on-site breakdowns, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial cooling systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical components, control systems, and refrigeration principles.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting issues related to temperature control machinery.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service abilities.
  • Familiarity with pump data plates, valves, heat exchangers, free coolers, adiabatic coolers, and associated control systems.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to client locations and the ability to work independently when necessary.
  • Possession of a valid driving license and the capability to travel internationally.

Compensation: Up to £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience).

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm / Friday 8am to 4pm.

This position is field-based, with hours classified as 'door to door'. Overtime is compensated at premium rates.
