Papermill Operative Job Description

The Recruitment Group is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our client's manufacturing team in Leicester. As a Papermill Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the paper machine and warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Move wrapped and labelled parent reels from the end of the paper machine to the warehouse, adhering to working instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Prepare, move, and place parent reels from the end of the paper machine to the wrapper, as required by the site layout.
  • Weight, wrap, and label reels, if necessary, and record details in the stock management system.
  • Apply stickers in line with quality procedures.
  • Operate forklifts and clamp trucks safely, completing daily checks and reporting faults.
  • Operate other necessary equipment in accordance with training guidelines.
  • Maintain equipment to ensure daily functioning in line with work instructions.
  • Assist with the operation and cleaning of the paper machine when available, including tasks where trained.
  • Comply with all defined standards for quality, environment, and health and safety.
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping in the working area throughout the shift.
  • Ensure health and safety rules are adhered to.
Requirements:
  • Forklift licence.
  • Desirable experience working in a manufacturing environment.
