Overview: NALA is on a mission to revolutionize banking for Africa. We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead our financial operations and strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the finance department, managing all aspects of taxation, accounting, and financial planning and analysis.
  • Direct strategic financial planning initiatives, including monthly assessments, forecasts, annual budgets, and long-term planning to support resource allocation and prioritization.
  • Lead a finance team, fostering a high-performance culture while enhancing our financial capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasting models, conducting detailed scenario analyses and ad hoc evaluations.
  • Provide insights to department leaders and the executive team regarding revenue, foreign exchange spreads, and profit margins across various markets.
  • Identify and implement growth and profitability strategies, including pricing optimization, margin enhancement, and evaluation of new products and markets.
  • Manage corporate debt and cash flow, supporting investment and financing initiatives.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in banking, fintech, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in a similar capacity, focusing on finance and strategic planning.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, proficient in financial modeling and data analysis tools such as SQL, MS Excel, and Python.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering results within a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
  • Degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Economics, or STEM from a recognized institution.
  • Professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or an MBA from a prestigious university are preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a rapidly growing startup environment.
  • Proficiency in additional languages, particularly Swahili or French, is advantageous.
