About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pastoral Leader to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Pastoral Leader, you will play a vital role in supporting the behaviour and attendance of students in a year group, working closely with students, staff, and families to ensure their well-being and academic success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students in a year group with behaviour and pastoral support
  • Work with students, staff, and families to promote student well-being and academic achievement
  • Be on duty each morning to supervise student entry and deal with any issues
  • Follow up on attendance concerns with students and parents
  • Liaise with the attendance team to check on student attendance
  • Update administrative systems and contribute to student profile reports
  • Arrange and service meetings with parents and other agencies as needed
  • Support the safeguarding, attendance, and welfare officers in their roles

Requirements
  • Educated to a minimum of GCSE Level or equivalent
  • Qualifications with specific relevance to the role are desirable
  • Experience working with children is essential
  • Ability to provide clear advice and information to parents and staff
  • Ability to relate sensitively to students with complex problems
  • Understanding of confidentiality and legal frameworks governing data
  • Knowledge and understanding of keeping children safe in education
  • At least two years' experience in an educational or social work setting
