JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently seeking experienced Senior and Principal Instrument & Control Engineers to join our team on a staff basis.

In this position, you will be tasked with overseeing project execution in alignment with Discipline Design Instructions, ensuring adherence to Wood and/or Project Procedures concerning Safety and Quality Control, while maintaining budgetary and scheduling targets.

The ideal candidate will be self-driven and capable of working autonomously. You should possess the confidence to deliver the Control and Instrumentation scope effectively and efficiently, while collaborating with execution centers globally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop specifications and prepare material requisitions for control systems, instruments, control valves, and other related equipment.
  • Issue material requisitions to the Material Management Department for inquiries, order placements, and subsequent revisions.
  • Maintain and regularly update the Master Requisition Index.
  • Evaluate vendor quotations, prepare technical assessments, and recommend the most suitable vendor in collaboration with the Materials Management Department.
  • Conduct coordination and engineering review meetings with major equipment vendors as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other teams and clients as required.
  • Monitor progress and generate associated reports, proposing plans to address delays and inefficiencies.
  • Inform the Chief/Principal Instrument Engineer of significant delays, policy matters, technical challenges, and any client requests that may impact contract terms.
  • Assist in creating Auxiliary Flow Diagrams as needed.
  • Establish and manage a filing system for project documentation.
  • Organize the transfer of records to storage and manage document destruction.
  • Prepare, review, and approve project deliverables to meet or exceed quality standards and budgetary constraints.
  • Provide expertise in site visits, surveys, and discussions with suppliers, vendors, contractors, and clients.
  • Contribute to proposals by interpreting technical content and ensuring alignment with other disciplines.
  • Prepare discipline man-hour estimates and collaborate with the Estimating Group on equipment cost estimates.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong technical knowledge and familiarity with the latest advancements in technology.
  • Proven ability to produce documentation that meets technical accuracy and deadlines.
  • Experience in Material Take Off management.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within a contracting environment is essential.
  • Experience reviewing Engineering Flow Diagrams and Piping Layouts with respect to assigned equipment.
