University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Diagnostic Radiographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Radiographer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform x-ray procedures in line with agreed competence and ensure that adequate radiation protection is given to self, patients, and other members of staff.
  • Clinically assess patients to decide the most appropriate radiographic projections to achieve a diagnostic result, considering age, fragility, ability to co-operate due to physical/mental condition.
  • Communicate clearly and openly with colleagues and patients on clinical and organisational issues.
  • Advise patients, staff, and others on the preparation of a wide range of radiographic procedures to achieve compliance with written instructions.
  • Adopt a patient-centred approach to clinical practice and ensure that all imaging services are delivered in line with UHB Trust Values.

Person Specification

  • Qualifications leading to BSc Diagnostic Radiography or DCR.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Evidence of up-to-date professional knowledge and technical knowledge.
  • Awareness of current NHS issues.
  • Demonstration of good interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and effective organisation skills.
