We are seeking a highly skilled Laundry Equipment Technician to join our team at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our laundry services team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of complex laundry equipment and plant.
Main Responsibilities- Liaise and work with other trades and disciplines to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Participate in the Labour Management Scheme and provide accurate timesheets and job dockets.
- Interpret detailed engineering drawings and specifications to instruct and advise others.
- Work efficiently with minimum supervision and manage own workload.
- Supervise contractors and sign service sheets as required.
- Diagnose and repair faults on complex electrical or mechanical services, engineering plant, and equipment.
- Monitor temperatures using handheld data collection devices and diagnose faults, recalibrate, and carry out repairs to steam gauges, boiler controls, and washers.
- Install and maintain energy conservation devices as instructed.
- Manufacture, assemble, erect, and install new specialist electrical or mechanical controls as required.
- Carry out installation, repairs, and planned preventative maintenance on the control systems for laundry machinery, steam raising plant, heating systems, motors, pumps, heat recovery, ventilation systems, and fire alarms.
- Carry out statutory inspections and testing on engineering plant and equipment and complete necessary documentation.
- Extensive post-qualification experience in electrical or mechanical services.
- Recognised time-served apprenticeship or City & Guilds and HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Mechanical equivalent.
- City & Guilds Inspection and Testing Certificate.
- Confined spaces certificate.
- Multi-skilling qualification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with staff at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work on own initiative without supervision.
- Computer literate and keyboard skills.
- Capable of working in a demand-driven service.
