This position offers a diverse range of responsibilities, including assisting in various clinical settings such as ophthalmology, haematology, and contraception clinics.
Key Responsibilities
The Patient Care Support Specialist will be an integral part of the primary healthcare team, delivering exceptional nursing care to meet the comprehensive healthcare needs of our patient population. Under the guidance of Lead Nurses, the responsibilities will encompass:
- Implementing clinical care packages and conducting assessments.
- Performing phlebotomy and monitoring patient care.
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication with patients and team members.
- Ensuring health, safety, and security standards are upheld.
- Contributing to service improvement initiatives.
- Promoting equality and valuing diversity within the workplace.
- Planning and executing health promotion strategies.
- Identifying and reporting safeguarding concerns.

This role may require travel between various sites. Working hours will be arranged during weekdays, with occasional Saturday shifts.

Clinical Responsibilities
The Patient Care Support Specialist will be responsible for:
- Adhering to established guidelines for clinical tasks.
- Conducting venepuncture and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Measuring and documenting vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, weight, and body mass index.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization in clinical environments.
- Providing accurate information to patients within the scope of practice.
- Assisting clinicians during minor surgical procedures.
- Encouraging patients to manage their health conditions effectively.
- Acting as a chaperone when required.
- Documenting patient interactions and care activities accurately.
