Job Title: Building Management Systems Project Lead

Overview: This role demands a proactive, customer-centric mindset, ensuring complete accountability for delivering a comprehensive Project Solution. The position is pivotal in executing and finalizing projects while achieving the necessary levels of client satisfaction in collaboration with the Schneider Project Team. The individual will oversee, engineer, plan, and allocate resources for various design initiatives within the End User Projects Team. Close collaboration with the Operations Manager, Project Managers, and Engineering Manager of the Region is essential, providing opportunities for career advancement within the Projects Team.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Health & Safety: Prioritize the safety of your team and colleagues, ensuring a secure working environment. Utilize QMS documentation and tools to uphold standards, proactively identifying skills and knowledge gaps to maintain Schneider's safety levels.
  • Design & Delivery: Manage and execute multiple projects with a keen awareness of financial aspects, including monthly forecasting, procurement, and invoice approvals. Engage closely with the Project Team, Operations Manager, and Commercial team.
  • Milestones & Performance: Assist in defining project scope and understanding objectives and performance metrics to ensure they are met or surpassed, delivering the highest quality results.
  • Engineering Responsibility: Lead the engineering design of BMS and integrated projects, including I/O schedules, operational descriptions, control panel design approvals, plant schematics, and H&S documentation, ensuring compliance with ISO Standards. Coordinate and schedule Commissioning Engineers on-site.
  • Team Development: Support, coach, and mentor team members to achieve successful project delivery. Identify specific project challenges and collaborate with the Operations Manager to address knowledge or skill gaps promptly.
  • Client Engagement: Take a proactive stance in gathering all necessary information to advance project work. Participate in site meetings with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and consultants, maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction, health and safety, time management, and financial oversight.
  • Motivation & Risk Management: Exhibit high motivation while being aware of risks, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Technical Expertise: Essential understanding of building automation systems and control systems, with knowledge of HVAC systems and energy management. Proficient in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management, capable of adapting to changing project demands and making critical decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities for effective interaction with clients, team members, and stakeholders. Skilled in understanding client needs and managing expectations to build strong relationships.
  • Product Knowledge: Familiarity with key products and technologies used in design, installation, and site operations. Ability to enhance projects by leveraging product and design expertise alongside commercial insight to identify efficiencies. Experience with Schneider products and EcoStruxure is preferred but not mandatory.
Educational Background:
  • HND/HNC in Building Services, Engineering, or Construction with an M&E background.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related M&E, Building Services, or Electronics field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Project Management certification such as Prince 2, PMP, or equivalent.
  • Electrical qualifications are desirable but not essential.
