Role Overview
In this position, you will oversee intricate projects across a diverse array of medical communication outputs, ensuring the quality and scientific accuracy of medical writing in collaboration with the client services team. You will lead the creation of content for product launches, messaging frameworks, and sales collateral, among other deliverables. Additionally, you will mentor the writing team to enhance their expertise in therapy areas, content delivery, and medical communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of client and competitor products, therapeutic areas, and commercial strategies in relation to current and future market trends.
- Stay informed about industry regulations and external factors that may influence existing accounts.
- Support junior writers across multiple accounts and therapeutic areas.
- Serve as the Technical Lead on significant client projects.
- Maintain a consistently high standard of medical writing quality.
- Exhibit strong briefing and review capabilities.
- Assist in the oversight and promotion of quality control measures.
- Collaborate with client services teams and the broader agency network to achieve account objectives.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients and external experts.
- Participate in meetings as needed, providing on-site support.
- Identify opportunities to enhance existing client accounts.
- Provide advanced writing support for proposal development and engage in pitch activities.
- Contribute to the formulation of project specifications, cost estimates, and reconciliations when appropriate.
- Monitor project expenditures against established budgets and promptly inform the Client Services team of any changes.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding scheduling and budgetary guidelines, contributing to prioritization discussions.
- Assist in the development of account plan forecasts in collaboration with client services leads.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience in medical writing within a healthcare communications agency, with familiarity across a wide range of communication activities.
- Ability to adapt writing style to suit various target audiences.
- Educational background in life sciences, preferably with an advanced degree (MSc or PhD).
- Comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
